SIGMAN Business Meeting held at AAAI 1999
- Agreed to check with Carol Hamilton of AAAI to determine whether they would be willing to maintain our membership list and handle mailouts again
- Carol later said that they are going to provide that kind of support again to AAAI subgroups
- Leslie agreed to post .ppt presentation of '96 report on the SIGMAN
website
- We discussed options for the 2000 SIGMAN workshop; comments included
the following: good to stay on our own (not return to a 1-day as part of
AAAI), could colocate with IEEE but it is not our association; easier
for industry participants to justify travel if colocated with AAAI (same
trip); SME and AutoFact were also suggested
- Elections: agreed to hold elections this Fall for Academic Co-Chair,
Newsletter Secretary, and one Member-at-Large.
Suggested dates: solicit nominations by end of September, set up elections
in October with closing by mid November.
- Workshop results: will publish results of 96 and 98 workshops as a
single book; Mike Hamilton of AAAI Press verbally agreed that they would
print it; he also wants a summary for AI Magazine
